Active Blackpool
Blackpool’s population statistics evidence a direct correlation between significantly higher levels of inactivity and levels of deprivation. Blackpool will target five of the ten most deprived communities in England, through an energetic and proactive engagement with individuals and communities facing extreme disadvantage. Directly responding to existing strategic challenges, which include having the lowest healthy male life expectancy in the country at 47 years (and only 51 years for women) as well as the highest male suicide rates in England, partners will deploy “relatable activators” capable of engaging isolated individuals.
