Making a difference- Disability Sport Fife
Disability Sport Fife (DSF) members enjoy a very special relationship with the staff of the Fife Sports and Leisure Trust (FSLT). The gym staff across FSLT centres are inclusive in thinking and practice and support DSF members of all levels of ability with a physical, sensory or learning disability.
Wheelchair racer and thrower Jonny Brown trains at the Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre and with the support of the gym staff he is now up on his feet working on a treadmill for the first time in his life. Jonny's new standing balance has added something quite different to his training programme and opened up new options for him in everyday living.
Congratulations Jonny and well done the MWC gym team who inspire and support all sections of our community inclusively. Jonny is a peer mentor with the Disability Sport Fife Get Out Get Active (GOGA in Fife) programme supported by Spirit of 2012.
