Supporting women to Get Out Get Active this International Women's Day
The International Women's Day (IWD) campaign is about motivating and uniting friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive. Join the conversation and #PressforProgress in sport and activity on social media with Get Out Get Active.
Working together with Spirit of 2012 and programme partners, we aim to reach those who are least active and promote good health through Get Out Get Active (GOGA). This programme will help to support more disabled and non-disabled people to move more, volunteer and lead active and healthy lifestyles together. Many areas have a focus on engaging women and girls.
To celebrate International Women’s Day take a look at Alison Clarke’s journey with Nordic Walking from first time participant to instructor in Nottingham here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMu00Q7LfQA
For the Day, GOGA Nottingham are hosting female friendly activities over the week. On Friday 9 March, GOGA Nottingham is inviting women for coffee, cake and Nordic Walking at Harvey Hadden Sports Village in Bilborough from 10:30am - 12:30pm.
GOGA Lead Claudia Russell says 'come and meet the friendly instructor and find out more about Nordic Walking over a cup of tea, or even have a go!'
