Celebrating our GOGA Volunteers
Volunteers’ Week is a chance to celebrate and say thank you for the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK.
It takes place 1st- 7th June every year and is an opportunity to celebrate volunteering in all its diversity.
This year, we wanted to share our volunteer stories and celebrate the fantastic contribution they make to GOGA in what is becoming a popular route into physical activity, a dual role as both volunteer and participant! Take a look at all our stories:
Fife- GOGA Community Champions in Fife who are walking their way to health by leading adults with additional support needs
Rochdale- We recognise the fantastic contribution of Kieran’s dual role as both volunteer and participant with GOGA Rochdale
Northern Ireland- Myrtle’s volunteer journey in GOGA Armach, Bandbridge and Craigavon
Thanet- The inspiring story of Vanessa who draws on her lived experience of managing her own health condition by volunteering and inspiring other to do the same
Nottingham- Watch and hear from Asmita who epitomises everything about GOGA in GOGA Nottingham
The week ended with myself attending a volunteer celebration with GOGA Nottingham celebrating the success of their "People Power" and the individuals that make GOGA what it is.
