Introducing the new Active Together podcast series
After a successful celebration event in October where we experienced the story of Get Out Get Active (GOGA) told by the people who have helped shape, influence, and benefit from the programme. Thursday 1 February will see the release of a new podcast series called Active Together.
Working with podcast specialists, Lloyd Bell Productions, the Active Together podcast will show how the GOGA programme brings people together to be active. It will share people’s experience of GOGA and how it has helped them to become active, or support others to be active too.
Since 2016, GOGA has been bringing disabled and non-disabled people together to be active. It has become much more than an activity programme. It is an approach to helping organisations and communities, across the UK, to support the least active disabled and non-disabled people in activity. But it can also encompass other examples such as intergenerational activity, carers and the people they care for being active together, families doing activities together, and communities coming together.
Made possible by founding funder Spirit of 2012 and additional investment from Sport England and London Marathon Foundation, we continue our mission to get some of the UK's least active people moving through fun and inclusive activities.
The Active Together podcast will be hosted by Sam Lloyd from Lloyd Bell Productions and a new episode will be released every two weeks. Guests will feel at ease and talk candidly about their personal stories so that the podcasts will resonate and engage with the audience.
We are delighted to be given the opportunity of working on such an exciting project for Activity Alliance to showcase some amazing clubs, projects, and initiatives across the UK. With twenty years of production expertise, the Lloyd Bell Productions team aims to bring to life the stories of some truly inspirational individuals.
Sam Lloyd, Managing Director at Lloyd Bell Productions.
The first episode of Active Together will be released on Thursday 1 February and sees volunteers Norman Shaw and Simon Booth speak about the Men’s Walk and Talk sessions in Bassetlaw lead by Bassetlaw Action Centre.
The Active Together podcasts will be available wherever you get your podcasts (Apple, Google, Amazon, Spotify etc.).
