Fun-filled pool sessions for all in Wiltshire

In Wiltshire, Get Out Get Active (GOGA) pool sessions are fully inclusive and open to anyone who wants to take part. Regardless of age, gender or physical ability they follow the GOGA mantra of being open to everyone.

"We always try to make our activities paddler-centric with the emphasis on having fun!" said Phoenix Paddle Sports’ organiser, Julie.

"We recognise that everyone is unique, and we embrace their differences and coach each individual’s needs rather than trying to teach the group as a whole."

With young children, 'play' encourages water confidence. This allows them to experience and explore the water, kayaks, and paddleboards in a safe and fun environment.

Previous participants have looked forward to the weekly sessions. One mum said:

"My daughter has come for her first session with the paddleboards and water sports with GOGA. It’s safe to say she loves it, and she can’t wait to come again. It’s a marvellous session, really inclusive, and we’re very impressed."

Recognising that older teenagers and adults often look for a more structured learning experience, coaches will be on hand to guide them during the sessions.

"Being around water is hugely therapeutic and we aim to make paddle sports more accessible for everyone," said Julie.

For those in Wiltshire that would like to attend the sessions start on Tuesday 18th February and finish on 25th March. They take place at Stonar School in Melksham, SN12 8NT at 7:45pm – 8:30pm.

Although free of charge, pre-booking a place is required and can be done by contacting Julie at julie@phoenixpaddlesport.com or by calling 07584 483102.
